North Bristol ARC is a group of 40 or so radio amateurs from the city and surrounding areas. We meet on Friday evenings from 7.00pm local time at the SHE7 centre behind the HSBC bank in Filton Road (postcode BS7 0TD) -- look for the antennas on the roof!

The club has a dedicated shack with an Icom IC7600 as the main HF rig, together with an Ameritron AL811 linear to bring the power up to 400W. The antenna for 10/15/20 metres is a MQ-34SR mini-beam at 10 metres height. For the lower bands, we currently have an off centre-fed dipole at a somewhat lower height. We also have rigs for the VHF/UHF bands.

We are an examination centre for all three levels of the Ofcom amateur radio licence, and we provide training for these exams (for free, we just ask that you join the club).

You will find us a very sociable bunch, with a club net and regular off-site activities such as local fêtes and our annual activation of Bitton station for the Railways on the Air event. The club is also a great place to come to show off your latest bit of kit from eBay, or to ask the other guys why they think it doesn't work! Whether you consider yourself technical or more of an operator, a CW fiend or just like a nice chat on FM, you will likely find a kindred spirit at NBARC.

You can find more information and contact details at the club website
