KL7JR's antenna farm consists of 2 antennas on a 80 foot tall pine tree.  One wire runs up left side of tree is a 160/80m Inverted L.  Right side of tree wire  is a 40m vertical and antenna in back yard is an A-99 vertical at 30 feet.  On trees to the front of house is a 180 feet long Delta loop at 60 feet.  It's great to be in the country again with tall oaks and pines and to hang wires anywhere I please, hi hi!  The Inverted L tunes all bands 160-10m but is best 160-40m.  The wire vertical is best for 40 and 20m while the A-99 is great on 10-17m.  The Delta loop works great 30-15m.

Here's what I've done with mobile MFJ and CB verticals on the ham bands.....now where's that guy who says CB antennas don't work on the ham bands, hi hi!

My rigs: Two TS-570D's and two TS-50s. Yes, I'm a Kenwood guy! I even had a TS-590S that spent more time getting repaired than my patience would allow- hi hi!

My favorite loop antenna:

"Yukon John" KL7JR has the following Ham Radio books published. They are informative, interesting and easy to read (large print!), economical and simple to order! You'll like his writing style, places ventured to and antennas built and used!

KL7JR's first Amatuer Radio book, "GO NORTH, JOHN!", ham radio adventure stories of Alaska and the Yukon, is available at LuLu.com. Debut in April 2011 QST page 85! (A life lived well in a place few people visit. A story of joy, hardship and a love of Amateur Radio in Alaska and the Yukon. Steve Ford, WB8IMY QST editor)

"AMATEUR RADIO IN CANADA'S NORTH", KL7JR's 2nd Amateur Radio book of ham adventures in VE7, VY1 and VE8 is also available on LuLu.com. 20 years of hamming from British Columbia, the Yukon and Northwest Territories (portable operating year-round, contesting in winter, special events and island activating adventures)! Debut May 2011 QST page 60! VY1RST, XK1RST and VE8RST special event ops! A must read to get you off the couch and to enjoy portable operating on a shoestring budget! Simple to build antennas and great fun from the north await you.

Recently published "PACIFIC AND CARIBBEAN DX", ham radio adventures in the US Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Dominican Republic and a couple Alaska DXpeditions thrown in for good measure. KL7JR doing what he does best from extreme locations using simple homebrew wire antennas and modified CB antennas 6-80m! Debut November QST, 2011 page 37!

"EXTREME DX" is hot off the press in Jan. 2012. A full color striking compilation of some of KL7JR's most exciting DXpeditions from the Arctic to the Tropics. The best of my best DX trips in full color! Operating takes place in polar bear country, on a glacier, from rare and remote islands and other locations. Contests, special events and using homebrew antennas or modified CB antennas on 10-80 meters make the reading "ride along interesting, action filled and as real as it gets with ham radio". The kind of Amateur Radio adventures that most hams only dream of!
