Hello! If we are in a QSO, I am probably using a FLEX-6500 between 20 and 100 Watts. On 20M and up, I use the SteppIR 3-element beam that might be pointing in your direction! I also have a 40M dipole and an 80/30 M dipole that are oriented NW-SE, more or less.  For JT65/JT9, I use wsjt-x software running on Windows 10.  Yes, I do work SSB, FreeDV (digital audio), and CW from time to time.  In difficult conditions, I may turn on my modified SB-220 amplifier, but not on "WARC" bands.

Here's the full rundown:

Modes JT65/JT9, PSK31, CW, SSB, and others as fancy strikes.
Bands Dipole antennas for 80, 40, & 30 M; 3-element SteppIR for 20 -- 6 M, and 11 elements on 2 M.  Lesser antennas: 160 M, 75 cm.
Rigs FlexRadio 6500, Elecraft KX-3, Kenwood TS-520S.  The Kenwood is the one to use when all else fails! Heathkit SB-220 linear.
QSL LoTW (preferred), Bureau, Direct (no cash, please), QRZ, and eQSL.
Tiny Bio Licensed 1957/1958 (K5MXF).  WA1OCT, WB6YBQ, and then AA6E (1978).  VK2ERX 1985/1986.

When I'm not on the bands, I have been reviewing new equipment and developing open source Python-based software for ham work. Check the AA6E web site and my blog "AA6E Station Log" for more details. That's me above on the QST cover for January, 2014.

Now retired from Yale University, I have a volunteer perch at the ARRL Headquarters Laboratory.
