Back into Ham Radio since getting started in High School Radio Club (Chicago Heights, IL). Ended up with a General class ticket, K9CEE. a great CW call. The home station consisted of a DX-60 kit and a SX-99 with an inverted Vee my parents let me install on the roof. Oh those Heathkit VFOs. Great fun with the high school club station Mosely Tri-Bander 5 stories up working DX during study hall. ('62)
Anyway, went on get an EE at IIT in Chicago and have been working in electronics product development pretty much since then. Moved to the Pacific Northwest in February 2010 to do the same for a company in Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island, WA. (Anacortes is on Fidalgo Island just across the Deception Pass bridge from Whidbey) In 2011 after getting reacqainted with Amateur Radio got a General ticket followed up three months later with Amateur Extra.
So in the next chapter I move to Delefield, WI between Milwaukee and Madison for an electroncs product develpment opportunity in March 2016. Plan to retire back in Anacortes, WA where we still own a house. Haven't gotten around to the A3S yet but did get the dX-EE multiband dipole up in the backyard oak trees. Have started to hammer the keys again and knock the rust off..
Work mostly CW on 40, 20, and 15 using a FT-950 with a DX-EE multi band dipole. Hope to CU on the bands
