Created in Moncton New Brunswick (Hub City of the Maritime Provinces) Canada in 1935, resident of Fredericton NB Canada since 1965

Joined the Canadian Armed Forces

Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Corps of Signals (RC Signals) from 1953 to 1969

During my service had one United Nations Peacekeeping Mission with 57 Canadian Signals Unit in the Congo Africa in 1962.

After my military service went to work as a Civil Servant (Office Administrator, Inventory control and purchasing) with the Province of New Brunswick Canada (Community Colleges system) for 26 years, retired in 1995.

Licenced as an Amateur Radio Operator "Beginners" in 1974 was assigned Callsign VE1UN, received my "Advanced" in 1975. Enjoy Dxing using RTTY, Digi modes and SSB.

Prior to the early 1990's prefix VE1 represented the whole Maritime Provinces. In Nov 1994 province of New Brunswick received it's own Prefix Designation of VE9 therefore changed to the Callsign VE9UN, later I was able to get Callsign VE9SIG and use it on special occassions.

My Callsigns are very special to me, VE9UN represents my United Nations Peacekeeping, VE9SIG for my military time with the Royal Canadian Signals.
