my name is Chris and I am licenced since 1988 at the age of 15. I am located in the southwest of Germany in a pretty university town. Being already a tube gear fan since my childhood, I now became a real Collins addict in the last few years. I really love to operate these jewels of american craftmanship and ingenious engineering and am actually running a KWM-2 TRX with 312-B5 2nd VFO & station control, 51S-1 RX, 30L-1 PA, 312B-4 station console (all round emblem), 312B-3 speaker (wing emblem) and an original Collins R-390A receiver. My antenna is a vertical which operates up to 80m. The signal monitoring is done by two Heathkits: SB-610 and SB-620. On the left side of my bench there is also a Drake TR-7A TRX (with RV-75 2nd VFO, MN-7 matching network and SP-7 speaker) which feeds a Dentron MLA-2500B PA. That rig always makes me remember my great elmer Werner Gesthuisen, DF3EV, silent key, who was running this Drake and Dentron line, too. He teached me being a ham and a amateur radio technician in his very special and unique manner back in the 80ties and early 90ties. I miss him a lot and I am sure he is still listening to my QSOs.
I prefer real conversation instead of quick and unpersonal "QRZ-you're 59-73s-goodbye"-QSOs. In my opinion, the heart and soul of being a ham is not only being a technic enthusiast, but also warm, friendly and cordial communication
I am looking forward to meet you on air!
