THANK YOU for visiting my QRZ web page. My QTH is Reichelsheim, a small village located around 30 km NNE of Frankfurt in a rural area, called the "Wetterau".

I gained my license in July 2015 and I am a DARC member (Fox11). The traditional way to confirm QSOs by exchanging paper QSL cards may appear old-fashioned to some of us but I still like it. This is my current QSL card:

For UHF and VHF I use a Kenwood TM-D710GE together with a Diamond X-30 antenna. Luckily I am surrounded by many repeaters within reasonable distance (e. g. DB0WAS, DB0HRF, DB0FT, DF0MOT) so that almost always one can be found that is currently in use. For HF I run a Kenwood TS-590SG connected to a short DIY loop antenna under roof which is a compromise due to limited space.

I like the experimental part of our hobby, in particular I love working with new antennas out in the field. Recently I tried a "Kite Antenna" with 42 m of an end-fed wire and my "HQ Power Sled XL 6.0" which requires a strong anchor due to the around 6 sqm surface area:

Just in case you intend to experiment with such a kite antenna, please ensure controlled static discharge by using a "bleeder box" as described by DL6IP. This is absolutely essential in order to avoid equipment damage.

My portable companions are either a Kenwood TH-D72E, a Yaesu FT-817ND or - more often in the recent past - an Elecraft KX3. The photo below shows my setup on the Glauberg Plateau during the Hessen-Contest in May 2016:

Here you can see my 2 m DIY double-quad antenna raised for my QRP operation on the "Winterstein" in 482 m above sea level:

Please join me in enjoying this beautiful view on the Wetterau!
