My name is Gerry Cassidy and I live in South Tenerife. Near the South Airport, one stop off the TF-1 at La Chafiras. Prior to
getting the Callsign EA8CTB I was GM4RKM back in the U.K. I used to work for ExxonMobile as an Instrument Artificer
and one of my duties included the U.H.F. radio system. I first became interested in radios when I was ten, when I contacted
an officer called Sgt. Mjr. Calhoune U.S.A.F. at Prestwick Airport and asked him what frequency the aircraft radios worked on.
Come up and see was the reply. So I did. Thats where it all began.
I am interested in all modes of communication H.F, thru U.H.F. My Station consists Yaesu FT-857D, FT-60, Icom IC-E2820
and an ID-51E Plus all running into a CP-6 multiband vertical and 2m/70cm for the higher bands. I now own a TYT MD-380
DMR rig. A DVDongle for D-Star soon to be replaced by a DV4Mini + RaspPi Hotspot.
For visiting Radio Amateurs here is a good source for info please visit the U.R.E. web site it has an English Translation.
I also have a Facebook Page Tenerife Radio Amateurs.
