Thank you for looking me up.

I was first licenced in June 1984 as G1KIY I passed the morse test in January 1987 and became G0GMY my equiptment in those days was a Yaesu FT 290R Mark 11 for portable and a 40 watt amplifier in the car for mobile work. For HF I had a Yaesu FT902dm a lovely rig which I always regret selling.

In the shack now is a FT991A and a Kenwood TL922 Linear Amplifier which I drive with 5 watts from the FT991A it gives me 140watts out so the station is just ticking over when I am on air. I have a full size G5RV and a Colinier Vertical for VHF.

I liked to work portable activating some of the rarer WAB squares and Lighthouses I used a linked dipole and Spiderbeam 40 foot pole. When I am walking I use a (Tintenna) a 40 metre whip a biscuit tin and two 18 foot counterpoise wires see the picture it is easy to carry and works suprisingly well.

I am retired and live on the Isle of wight and a member of the VECTA Contest Group we enter a number of HF VHF & UHF contests from our contest site on Luccombe Down above Ventnor. As an individual I enter the low power section of the UKAC Tuesday night 2 metre and 70cm contests from a hill near Blackgang.
