I am located in the village of Warsash near Southampton.
Currntly using an Icom 7100, a multiband vertical and an OCFD for 80-10. Also a Kenwood 590sge which is my favorite CW rig and also has great ears. Lately treated myself to an Icom 7300 and I am finding the bandscope to be very useful indeed - still reading the manual in order to understand it fully !
For mobile ops I use a FT817 and a mini mag loop which I operate from my car at the local beach, best of both worlds there as I can also watch the activity of ships and huge cruise liners etc as they pass by on the way to Southampton docks
I enjoy digital modes and CW mainly as I can use low power (and keep the xyl happy as it keeps me quiet!)
Diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (Cancer of the bone marrow) in July 2015 and am sadlly now virtually immobile so my radios are my lifeline to the outside world - so am glad to chat to everyone as you see from above, I have decided of late to devote a lot of my time when possible to CW, hopefully it will make me better and encourage others if they find a station sending at a speed they can read and not be put off by only finding stations sending at the speed of light!
Enjoying most digital modes and of late, DStar
