Hi there.

Thanks for looking me up on this site.

I have been retired from full time work since 2001, and now enjoy my hobbies, which include photography, computing , amateur radio, and scouting. I am the Mid-Cheshire scout district radio communications advisor, and a member of the Cheshire county scout radio communications team. Our permanent callsign is GX7 JOA/P. I have been licenced since 1984, and also associated with scouting for a similar period, first as an assistant leader, then later as a radio advisor. I am a member of the Scout Association and was presented with the Scout Medal of Merit in 2008 for my work with scouts , and a belated 20 year long service award, and in 2010 the 25 year long service award.

I am QSL manager for the scout special event stations, GB2CS and GB1HSC, and I also operate on GB4CHE, GB6CHE, GB2COS, and GX7JOA/P all Cheshire Scout radio station callsigns. Please have a look at the website ( www.gb2cos.org.uk ) for information and photographs of the station GB2 COS and GB2 CS and events we have taken part in. I have been involved with operating scout JOTA, or Jamboree On The Air stations, held in October each year, since I was first licenced, and also with Cheshire scouts international jamborees, known as "Chamborees" , held once every four years, since 1990, providing amateur radio stations for these international camps, and helping the many scouts present from around the world  speak with other scouts and radio amateurs worldwide.

Why not check us out during JOTA weekend we will be working on HF, all frequencies bar top band, VHF / UHF, IRLP on 5400 & 5450, D-Star on GB7WC repeater, and Echolink. We will be very pleased to hear from you, and our group of scouts present would love to make contact and exchange messages with you..

My equipment consists of a Yaesu FT847,  a Kenwood TS480SAT, an Icom IC E2820, an Icom IC7100, an Icom IC5100 also a Yaesu FT8800.  Handhelds include an Icom IC D92E, and a Baofeng UV5R, and Motorola GP340.  You can never have too many radios  HI!!!.

I am also a member of the Warrington Amateur Radio Club, ( website www.warc.org.uk ),where I operated the Radio Society of Great Britain's special centenary call sign of G100RSGB, at the end of January 2013, when the operation came to this club for three days to celebrate the start of a years celebration of the Society's 100 years.

Hope to work you again soon, 73
