Hi my name is John had my call since the early 70's I was qrt for about 20 years and only in the last 5 years returned to topband. Worked for 28 years as a ships Radio Officer worked MM a few times on topband.

My transmit antenna on 160m is a pair of phased verticals as of 20/3/12 spaced 5/8wavelength one approximately 84ft and one is only 60ft both top loaded the 60ft antenna has 4 raised radials which were tuned up as dipoles on 1830khz they are 12ft highspaced 90 degs. We are only about 6m above sea level and the ground is heavy clay beneath the topsoil and we have a high water table. which is good for the verticals but not the best for beverages.

.

For receive I have 5 beverage antennas and a small loop antenna,I am interested in obtaining old Marine Radio receivers and transmitters from Marconi/ITT /Sailor/Redifon/Skanti.Also vintage amateur radio transmitters and receivers.

My main intrest is working Topband and have managed to work 36 zones in the last few years and over 200 countries.

I have a selection of marine radio equipment obtained from vessels I worked on in the past much of this equipment became redundant when GMDSS came out,I have also a transceiver- Icom 7400 and a bit of home brew gear.

I am a member of:-

RSGB , ARRL, VMARS.

WANTED: MARCONI OCEANSPAN TRANSMITTER .MARINE: RX: MARCONI ATLANTA AND SIMILAR
