Back on the air after an absence of 25 years.

Running 100W 40M - 4M (Icom IC7300 / Sandpiper MV6 / Yaesu TC-700 ATU)

50W on 2m (Icom ID-5100E / Yaesu FT-7900 mobile / Icom ID-51EPlus2 / Kenwood TH-F7 / Baofeng UV-5R / Puxing PX888K portables / Tokyo Hy-Power Linear / Homebrew SlimJim) and 45W 70cms (Icom ID-5100E / FT-7900 / TH-F7)

Usually found on GB3EW / GB3EX / GB3TR in mornings and late afternoon. New-ish to HF, so still experimenting with bands and antennas.

In November 2010, I  built & erected a nested Marconi (G7FEK) 1/4λ aerial which together with the ATU is usable from 80m right up to 10m. Initial reports indicate that this is the 80m aerial I've always wanted.

Fed up with running 5W on 2M mobile and being able to access GB3EW for about 5 minutes as I speed down/up the M5, I went out to the emporium at Weston Super Mare (now sadly defunct - late(!) edit on November 2013) and bought a Yaesu FT-7900E. What a rig!!! Wish I got it in the first place rather than the Kenwood TH-F7 ( which is also a good rig, but not for mobile use in Devon).

UPDATE Oct 2016  Marconi nest fallen down. Now running Vertical for 40 - 6M or halfsize G5RV which tunes to 6M  / Halo for 4M

UPDATE Sept 2017. After struggling for a week with the ID-5100E and a DVMega/Raspi 3, I finally got it all working and am QRV on D-Star - though mainly using the 51E now.
