Hi, I am Gary, K0BAJ, my home QTH is on a farm south of Garden City, Kansas. I was originally licensed in 1955 with this call sign. .

After I was originally licensed I was active for about 20 years, then due to raising a family, running our businesses, etc I dropped out of the hobby. While sailing our new boat from South Carolina to the Houston area it became apparent that ham radio is the most reliable form of communication when at sea. Anyway, I became re-interested, and after we returned home I became relicensed and thru the vanity system got my old call back. I have been having a blast on the air since.

My wife and I have spent the last 26 winters in Port Isabel, Texas which is accross the bay from the vacation destination of South Padre Island.  We have a small house there and I also operate  /5 during the winter months of December thru March.  Needless to say snow is a "four letter" word to me.  We do a lot of fishing in the bay and it is 25 feet from the back door to the fishing boat.

I am fully retired, and adjusting to and moving into our new house in Kansas and setting up the shack.  It consists of an Icom 7600, Alpha 9500 amplifier and a 3 element SteppIR at 60 feet. I recently bought an Icom 7300 and sadly the 7600 has been sitting idle on the bench.  I enjoy ragchewing and some dxing.  We really enjoy spending our winters in the warmer climate and do a lot of fishing and some catching!

Cheers and 73
