Where to start... Well, I have a 30+ year background in electronics and audio engineering.  So I've got a bit of a crush on AM as a result - it's a sound thing.  But you can also find me doing PSK on 14.070, dabbling with satellites, experimenting with WSPR or APRS, but most often I'm hanging out on AM at 3.873 or 3.885.  I enjoy DX but I'm not into contesting (although I will chime in sometimes).  I love the old tube gear but for the sake of simplicity my primary rigs are a Kenwood TS-570D and a Yaesu FT-991, both feeding (via switch) an Ameritron AL-80B amp with Palstar AT4K & BT1500A tuners feeding numerous antennas - most hanging from my 50 ft. tower and some going out to the trees.  I also have a Yaesu FT-101B that I've cleaned and tuned up, a Kenwood R-2000, a hybrid Kenwood TS-830S, and just recently added a slick Viking Valiant for my AM fun.  Under the desk (but still used often) are a Kenwood TM-V71A w/ a 2M/70CM dual band on a rotor.  One day I WILL reach the International Space Station. :-)  Or aliens.  I'd be fine with either.

Want to check your signal into the Northeastern US?  Feel free to use my WebSDR site:  http://K3FEF.com:8901/
Or just visit my regular website which has some info about both myself, AND my wife: W3TKP. http://K3FEF.com

I'm also into Jeeps, 2nd amendment type items, and prepping for the zombie invasion.

Feel free to add me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pfaeffle

I also enjoy fixing up vintage boat anchor receivers.  These are few that are done and ready to go!  The T-368 Transmitter (below) is still being worked on - paint job is next!

This is my "new" Viking Valiant which I found in bad shape but managed to get it running like a champ again!

I keep debating about moving all my gear down into my recording studio since it's much more secure, underground, but my wife says it will ruin the aesthetics. This is the view from the back of the control room and you can see the live room and vocal booth through the glass.  If you ever need a studio in Northeastern PA, look me up:
