My wife and I are retired near our roots in Northeastern Oklahoma after living in nine states and a couple of countries over the past 45 years. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BSEE in 1963 and did graduate studies at Iowa State and Carnegie Tech. After two years in the U.S Signal Corps serving on the Dew Line I spent the next 33 years as a design engineer and engineering director at Collins Radio and Rockwell Collins at the Cedar Rapids Richardson and Chicago locations. My specialty has always been computer input output systems and later in my career digital voice switching. After retiring from Rockwell in 1992 I joined CenturyTel (CenturyLink) in Monroe LA where I served ten years as Vice President of Technology Planning. My career ended with my service for five years as the Chairman of SkyPort International a commercial satellite broadband server located in Houston.

Even though I was around radio technology I did not pursue my amateur license until August of 2010 when I tested out of all three levels to start off as an Extra Class. Now I operate Collins ICOM Yaesue and Heathkit gear in all HF VHF and UHF bands. I have an inverted vee which hums at 40 and 80meters. As you can see from the photo threre are various beams for 20 meters through 70 cm. Not shown is my recently installed sloper for 160 meters which finalizes my access to the world.

I operateseveral tube era Collins Radio Stations. One a KWM-2 plus75 S-1 Receiverwith a B-4 Station Control driving a WE 30L-1 PA. The second station is a 32S-1 teamed with a 75S-1 receiver with a B-2 Speaker and finally a 75S-3 teamed with the 32S-3. All are supported with MM-1 Microphones and a couple of D-104's. Also have a KWM-1 which is a work in progr ess Just added a Collins 32V-1 and 75A-1 with matching 270G-1 speaker to my shack.  And now I my Gold Dust twins on the air on all bands.. Hope to be on the air more with AM particularly on 40 and 80 meters. I am not a contester but a rag chewer. I am having the time of my life and only regret not having done this 40 years ago. By the way I also breed American Quarter Horses including my world class competitor Badgers Rodeo Rosie.
