I received my Technician license in March of 2013 then upgraded to my General in May of the same year. Then feeling I needed to do a bit more I studied and passed the Extra class exam in Feburary, 2016. I have been around ham radio for most of my life as my father WA6CPO/SK and my brother WB6OZU obtained their licenses while I was quite young. I didn't start getting serious about obtaining my license until I was about to retire as I wanted to be able to do ham radio while traveling in my RV and on my boat, which is in Mexico.

I enjoy VHF/UHF while mobile in the RV and set up my IC-7200 with a random wire in the trees or an MFJ Hamtenna while camped. I transfer the Icom onto the boat which uses an insulated back stay and AH-4 tuner when there. I use my dad's old Kenwood TS-430S and MFJ-945C tuner at my home QTH with a G5RV-JR up 35' at the peak and the ends at about 20'.

I am looking forward to many years of enjoying the hobby I am now a part of.
