Ham Member Lookups: 3283

I was first licensed in December, 1960 and have kept my original callsign throughout my Amateur Radio 'career'. And amateur radio is the very best hobby in the world. after 52 years i still love it. and i still have fun on cw. it is good to remember where we started in ham radio. also in lansing  we have a great Net on the 145.390 repepater each Sunday for Slow Scan TV and other digital modes...where I serve as Net Control. And, by the way, if you happen to be in the area, or you listen regularly, we WELCOME EVERYONE to join us for this net...even if you do not have an SSTV setup. Just come, check in and enjoy the Net with us.

My shack includes the following  a kenwood ts2000 into a  ameritron al-1200 with a atb-34 tribander.  And a ten-tec jupiter into a ten-tec centaur amp into a delta loop for 40 meters.  also Kenwood 9130 for 2m SSB into a 12 el horizontal yagi, and a six meter loop for a little fun on six meters, and Icom IC-V8000 for 2m mobile.  On 2m, 6m, 70cm\fm  I run a Diamond 2000 at about 50ft. WHEN ASKED WHAT HAS KEPT ME IN HAM RADIO ALL THESE YEARS. (I ALWAYS SAY) IF YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND TO BE FRIENDLY YOU WILL HAVE FUN. AND I TRY TO HELP THE NEW HAMS. YOU WERE ONCE A BEGINER TOO.  AND REMEMBER TO GREET NEW HAMS AT THE CLUB AND MAKE THEM FEEL WELCOME AND A PART OF THE GROUP.  INVITE THEM OVER WITH OLD HAM FRIENDS WHEN YOU HAVE AN ANTENNA PARTY. NOTHING LIKE BEING INCLUDED TO MAKE YOU COME BACK. AND  EXTEND A HELPING HAND AND A SMILE TO NEW HAMS. ITS NOT HARD TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR HOBBY HAS A FUTURE.
