I have been a Ham since 1957 starting with my Novice call KN9JRI when I was 13 years old. My career took me to various assignments with the old Bell System mainly involving digital data, mobile radio, microwave and wire carrier systems and finally fiber optic multiplex systems.

I have been on the air continuously since 1957 and my current interests are HF SSB, CW, RTTY, FT8,  JT9, JT65, WSPR  and PSK-31 contacts. I am not much of a contester nor DX chaser but enjoy a good QSO long or short.

I do enjoy QRP and kit building having built and still use a few of the Hendrick's QRP kits and Small Wonder Labs kits.  These include the Retro-75 and the PFR3A.

My current station consists of an Elecraft KX3 transceiver an Elecraft K3s transceiver and an Elecraft KPA500 amplifier.  The antenna is a loaded 80M dipole / 20M dipole tuned with an MFT 994BRT remote tuner.

I also use a DV Dongle for D-Star access and Echolink for several Indiana analog repeaters.

My radio computers are a Mac mini using MacLoggerDX locally and MacLoggerDX HD remotely via my iPad Air 2 and an Intel NUC using Win4K3 for local logging and control and use Microsoft Remote Desktop for remote access.  Either computer has access to the K3s, KX3 and KPA500 via Elecrafts utilities.

ExpertSDR2 software, running on the Intel NUC (Windows 10), controls a ColibriNANO SDR which is used as the panadapter for the K3s and remotely as a receiver.

Both the Elecraft K3s and the KX3 use their built in CW, RTTY and PSK decoders for the digital modes.  MacLoggerDX provides a transmit and receive terminal window for these modes.  I also  WSJT-X for the K1JT digital modes with both radios.

I hope to work you on the air soon.
