I began my amateur interest at the age of 11. While in high school, I worked part-time for a radio/tv repair shop. Enlisted in the Airforce in 1957 and went to electronics school(42 weeks). After graduation, they assigned me to Air Defense Command and trained me in the career field as an Electronics Counter-measures airborne repairman. This translates into legally jamming any and all communications signals. Upon leaving the USAF I worked for Donner Scientific on the first stage firing stage of the Polaris Missle. It proved to be too boring(sitting at a bench all day ) for not much money. I forgot to mention that while in the USAF our outfit was last personnel to fly in the old warbirds; B-29's..What a trip! I then became Tour Bus Driver, as I enjoyed working with the public and traveling around the countryside. I obtained my Amateur ticket in 1978 and was on the airways until 1987. I then went off the air until (while maintaining my Ticket) 2009. I retired in 2009 . That's all folks! de KA6BYR
