Ham Member Lookups: 253

After nearly 40 years of inactivity I got my Ham license back. I currently hold a General class but hope to upgrade sometime in 2015. My interest is just making contacts with new areas and hearing about the other Hams interests and equipment.

Here in Black Wolf, WI (Oshkosh mailing address) I put up an end-fed long wire (36 feet) that is stuffed under the vinyl siding and is about 10 feet off the ground. It tunes 80, 40, 20, 17, and 10 meters. But now I have a HyGain AV-640 vertical antenna. The base is about 15 feet off the ground. Being next to the lake I get great connections and signal reports.

My rig is an Elecrat K3/100 (100 watts) with a P3 pandaptor.I have a  Signalink USB digital sound card for PSK31 operation. I know about nothing about digital transmissions. Back when I was a Ham (1960s-1970s) digital was CW and RTTY.

More later.

73,
Ed
