First licensed in 1991 as a General. Learned code for the US Navy which was required at the time. I have had the same call since getting my ticket. First contact was from Mission Viejo in Southern California, then on to Santa Cruz in Northern California and now retired in Emmett Idaho. Career was in Computer Security for Cisco Systems. Most of my time today is with PSK31 from my base station and 2M voice when mobile.

I have always been a technoloogy junkie ... started taking apart radios when I was a kid (wish I still had some of those Silvertone floor consoles). On to computers and finally networking ...  Enjoying being a HAM. My wife and I are planning to tour the USA in a year or two taking a year or two to do it. So will be changing some locators along the way.   Origionally from Pittsburgh ... a neighbor got me started in HAM radio   W3ZBY now SK.  I will add some photos soon.

Quick station info ... FT-991 <via USB> HP Laptop ... to a MFJ-1796. I generally run 40 watts and stick to PSK31 and have never made a phone contact (yes I have made a few CW ones).
