I became interested in ham radio in 1964 but did not get my Tech. license until 2006 which I upgraded to General in 2011 and then to Extra in July of 2015.

I listened to short wave and amateur radio for all of those years and now wonder why I waited so long.

My current rig is an Icom IC-706MKII with a MFJ-969 tuner using homebrew 1\2 wave horizontal wire dipoles cut for 10 and 20 meters stretched across the rear of my home. I have plans to add to these to allow me to work other bands as time and space allows.

                                                        Update!!!!!!!!!!!

Moving the station to the new QTH in Kentucky. All West Virginia contacts will still recieve the West Virginia QSL cards, contacts made from the new location will recieve the new Kentucky QSL cards when available.

After many long years of service the ic706 finally gave up the ghost. It will be missed.

New rig coming soon, I'll post pictures when the new station is up and running.

I really enjoy getting paper QSL cards and try to respond quickly when one is received.

                                    SWL Reports are welcome

Thanks for checking out my page and I hope to meet you on the air!
