I grew up watching my father enjoy this hobby (WB6HNY) which he has been doing since he was a teenager.  Now I am 46, and have children of my own and decided this would be a fun hobby to do with them.  In October 2015, I took the plunge and passed my Technician exam (after experiencing my first JOTA and studying the ARRL materials)  and I am jumping in with both feet.  I took and passed my General exam on November 21, 2015.  I passed my Extra Exam on January 23, 2016.

I started having fun with BPSK-31 in the late summer of 2016!  I am learning what I can about other digital modes, and learning CW.

I am involved in Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout 1987) as a adult leader and I am looking forward with promoting Amateur Radio with them.  I am a Geotechnical Engineer, and enjoy researching the B-25 Mitchell bomber, World War 2 History, Marksmanship and Plastic Model building.

I am husband to Linda and father to Evelyn, Thomas and Samuel

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSES

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosperyou and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’Luke 14:28-30 (NIV)

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV)
