RF Propagation List (updated every 10 minutes)

 RF-Seismograph Image RF Seismo Legend

How to read the graph:

When the line goes wide there is propagation but not necessarily a man-made signal. The absolute value of the noise level is not important for propagation, but it is interesting to watch how the noise changes over time. Slow changes are usually made by the ionosphere (5min and longer). The slower the rise of the signal the further away it originated. Fast changes are man-made signals, hence vertical lines…

The black bottom graph is easier to read when it comes to propagation. The grayscale indicator shows propagation for all the bands according to color codes as in the sig/time graph. White is best propagation.

In October 2016, I joined our local Ham radio club, CMSARA. In November 2016, I passed my exam for my Technician license. A big "Thank You" goes out to Tommy K5TMA for the use of his study materials and his Elmer aid. Tommy also helped me in the proper grounding of my home station equipment. I then started my study for the General exam and passed it at the Capital City HamFest in Jackson, Mississippi in January 2017. On November 14, 2017, I passed my Amateur Extra license exam.

My little Radio Shack has grown from just a handheld to a HF rig and Tuner.  I made my 1st HF contact on March 25, 2017 with the Good Old Boys Group on 7.279 40 meters and was reported to have a 5+ signal with that net.   I still have a lot to learn about operating my Yeasu FT-450D radio and I am enjoying the hobby more every day!  Another "Thank You" is in ordered for all the help I have received from our local Mississippi area Hams!

I am now enjoying learning HF digital and have made some great contacts with my SignaLink USB and FLDIGI on PSK-31 using my portable 80 - 6 meter Multi Band Alpha Antenna.
