I want to start collecting QSL cards, so please send them. No return postage necessary, just a SAE. If you can pay to send them, the least I can do is pay to reply.
I am a new Amateur radio operator. Got my technician and general ticket on April 1, 2014.
My equipment is an Icom IC-7300 and an Icom IC-7100 with a Hustler 5BTV vertical antenna, I also have a Kenwood TH-D74A for Dstar with a DVMega on a Raspberry Pi, A TYT MD-380 for DMR, and a Yaesu FT-2DR HT.
Lately I have been enjoying JT65/JT9 using WSJT-X and HRD. Making some good contacks using that mode. Just recently I started playing around with Dstar and DMR. It is fun working these digital modes and it has opened up a whole new world for me.
I have been interested in radio all my life, but never got around to getting my amateur radio license until recently. And I sure have been enjoying the hobby.
It is amazing and kind of magical that I can vibrate some electrons with a hundred watts and a wire hanging in a tree and someone on the other side of the world can hear me.
