Hello for Northern California.

Im a retired fireman, I've just recently become re-interested in Amatuer radio. First licensed as WB6WIA in 1977, I worked the world on 10 & 15 meters in those days using a HW101 and a piece of electrical conduit stuck in the ground. Great fun but with a move, marrige, kids etc I lost interest just after upgrading to Advanced and obtaining KG6VN in 1984.

Recently purchased an IC7300 and tuner, connected to a Random wire 10M up in the air. Its a marginal setup but Ive had great fun on PSK31 and lately on JT65. So Im dipping my toe back into radio and having a bit of fun. Hoping to grow the antenna farm a bit in 2017 and helping my 13 yr old grandson work towards his tech.

Other hobby for the last 10 years has been building and flying a Cozy MKIV, seen in the pic above parked next to the work fleet and below at Mojave space port. This is a 4 seat, 200 mph plane with a 1000+ range. Built entirely from plans, no kit. All fiberglass and foam construction.  We've flown it all over the country now and to Oshkosh twice where it won a Bronze Lindy.

Im using LoTW primarily now (in the unlikely even you need a QSL from California.

Hope to see you on the waterfall or at an air show!

UPDATE, passed my Extra March 2017
