Former Call KE4UMT

I QSL 100%, Direct and EQSL and LOTW. That is me in the left side of the picture at field day. I have been back on the air since November 2006, after being out of the hobby since 1996. I was originally licensed in the winter of 1994 and in March 2007 I upgraded to General Class then upgraded to Extra Class in July 2007. After trying to for several years, I finally got the code down enought to get on the air on CW. I  found learning the code to be very enjoyable. I mainly am on SSB on 20m-80m, and trying to get my station going for digital modes.  I also involved in EM-COM through the North Fulton A.R.E.S. group. I enjoy all aspects of ham radio and make an effort to learn constantly from my elmers (W4QO, WB4MAK and WK4U mainly) and passing this on to the younger and newer hams.  My current main HF rig is an ICOM-751. I also use a Kenwood TS-820. The antennas are a G5RV for 10-80m and a 40m loop. I have enjoyed  Portable operations. You may have heard me when I operated several times at a friends lakehouse on Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville, Ga. and at a previous work QTH in Dunwoody, Ga. or a cabin in Highlands NC. I also operate vhf/uhf mainly through the Atlanta Radio Club and North Fulton Amatuer Radio League (www.nfarl.org)  repeaters. For the car I use a Kenwood 708 dual band 2m/440 and also still have my original handheld, a Kenwood TH-22AT. Other than amateur radio I am interested in all aspects of athletics. I have taught K-8 PE and coached fast-pitch softball, basketball and track and Field. I currently am the Athletic Director of an Atlanta area private High School. I have been introducing ham radio to the students of my school and may someday, possibly start a club. 73, Dave
