I do not upload as /P, /M or /QRP for LOTW purposes, nor do I use them on the air. All SOTA ops are uploaded with appropriate state, county, and grid. Please log accordingly to receive confirmation. Please don't email me asking me to upload under a call I didn't sign with on the air.
I respond 100% to any QSL card I receive.
I do not typically send outgoing QSL cards due to low response rate and a lack of consideration for this aspect of the hobby. That said, want a card? Then send a card. I absolutely LOVE receiving cards, and if you pay to get your card to me, I will ALWAYS cover the return postage--this is the ONLY fair way to handle QSL cards. No green stamps, postal stamps, or coupons EVER needed, if you pay your half.
GUD ARRL INCOMING & SKCC
Mainly interested in SOTA, QRP, and CW ops.
In the shack, I'm running the KX3 using K8RA P4 paddles and/or a Kent "Hand Key". Mostly run QRP. A Hardrock 50 amp is in the quiver if I don't have to carry it and the extra batteries very far.
For SOTA, I am now using a KX3 w/ Palm Pico paddles or an AME KK1 straight key, with either a home built Buddistick vertical knockoff or "KX3 Helper" and end fed wire. The FT817 below has gone on to serve another op.
I share my life with my amazing, beautiful, and talented wife and our two dogs, Samson and Delilah:
As far as other hobbies, fly fishing and being outdoors in general are two of my passions. I chase smallmouth and striper locally, wander into the hills of Western North Carolina chasing "blue line" brook trout with a lightweight fly rod, and venture long distance every so often looking for the big boys:
What we are known for around Camden and in the midlands: Horse racing, black water swamps, and a Revolutionary war battle:
