Ham Member Lookups: 409

As a kid I was fascinated by the neighbor's ham shack with a world map and QSL cards from exotic places covering its walls.  I knew that I wanted to do that someday. "Someday" finally came in 2012 when my husband Bill and I got our tech licenses. We upgraded to general a year later, and I recently passed the exam to upgrade to extra.

Our home rig is a Yaesu FT 450D with a Double Bazooka inverted V antenna that hangs from the upstairs eave of the house, about 40' in the air.  We also have a Buddipole that we use when operating portable from our travel trailer.  My main interests are DX (I'm slowly building my own collection of QSL cards, and hope you'll send me your card if we make contact) and helping our local amateur radio club with radio support for community activities.

In my regular life away from the radio, I am retired from the College of Fine Arts at the University of Kentucky (Go Wildcats!) and I've been a church organist for over 35 years, currently serving at Crestwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I also play upright bass with the Backroom String Band. Other hobbies include trying to play hammered dulcimer and Celtic harp, and touring the backroads in one of our antique cars.
