Hi.

Thanks for looking at my page. My name is Paul and I've been a licenced amateur radio operator since February 2011. I have been a listener on all bands since I was 13 years old (ISWL Member G-20607).

I was introduced to amateur radio by a CB operator who showed me his listening radio setup. This consisted of a Realistic HF receiver, an ERA MicroReader CW/RTTY decoder and a handheld Realistic VHF/UHF scanner. As soon as I heard stations from all over the world, I was hooked.

I returned to radio after a few years away from the scene and discovered that the licencing conditions had changed. No more class A & B. This persuaded me to try for my Foundation licence and I was lucky enough to pass my exam on 22 February 2011 with the help of the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (http://www.g0mwt.org.uk).

I currently use a Kenwood TS-480SAT HF/50MHz transceiver at my home QTH attached to an end fed multiband HF long wire antenna. I also use a Yaesu FT-857D HF/VHF/UHF transceiver whilst mobile and a Yaesu FT-817 HF/VHF/UHF transceiver whilst portable.

Best 73s.

Paul.
