Thanks for looking me up on QRZ.com

My name is John and I have a class A (UK FULL) License. My previous call sign was 2M0JHN (Novice License). I am a proud member of Stirling District Amateur Radio Society (GM6NX) where I recently obtained my Class A license in April 2017 (thanks to billy GM0OBX for his lessons).

I also use Club log and Log Book Of The World which I try to update as often as possible.                                 

I live in Hamilton approx 12 km south of Glasgow in southlanarkshire Scotland.

I have a Yaesu Ft-897 for portable work VHF, UHF, HF, SSB.

At my QTH I have a Yaesu FTDX 1200 and a ACOM 1010 Linear Amplifier.

Antennas : At the QTH I have a HEX beam covering 6 bands 20m to 6m also a vertical for 40m. I have a 10/12m yagi for portable a pro whip and also have some home made 20m + 40m verticals and a 17m vertical for portable. I often take my AMP with me portable and run a small generator to power the AMP. You might also find me on ft8. I enjoy working  SSB portable and try to get out as much I can.

This is the latest picture of inside my shack at my station with my ACOM 1010, Also my YAESU FT DX 1200.  ICOM 7300 on its way soon for data and portable use.

MY ACTIVATIONS

Friday the 29/9/17 MM0JZB and MM0VPY will be on the island of Arran until Monday 2nd October. Eu123 and WAB squre NS02. We hope to see you in our log over the weekend. Arran is a island off the West coast of Scotland. We will have a vertical for 40m and a 6band Hex beam , Yaesu FT DX 1200 x 2. 

This is the view from the back garden of the cottage we hired looking out to the Irish Sea. Taken in March 2017 just before we passed our full exsam (A Class), Myself at the time 2M0JHN now MM0JZB and also my radio buddy steve who was 2M0EVS and now MM0VPY.

 

This was the trip with the Club (GM6NX) to Lichtenstein for seven days, we will be active as HB0/GM4UYE from May 31st to the seventh of June 2017.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO

 

 

Some weekends and Holidays I spend my time operating portable at a small fishing village called Hopeman near Elgin in Scotland. Along the coast about 20 miles from Inverness.

There will be some more Island trips this year 2018, The Island of North/South Usit in July. I will post dates and info nearer the times of the trips.
