I was introduced into radios back in 1978 in the old am cb days and was hooked thenI then went over to the fm setup in 1981 but the magic had gone.I knew people who had taken evening classes in ham radio but it all sounded very complicated to me at the time so never persued it further. My son started talking about taking his licence late last year 2009 and I was given a foundation book for christmas, I looked at it I thought there and then that this is somethingI wanted to do, as the technical side of radio is something ive never let go of since my early days as well as the wonderful people I meet on air,I took my foundation level with my son and now we are all working towards the intermediate and will im sure go on to the full licence I say we are all because my wife has decided to go on air as well due to what she has seen and heard. We all took our intermediate in november 2011 in haverfordwest club GC0EJE and all became a family of 2w0's, I have now taken my advanced in august 2012 hence now Im now an mw0 now that out the way i am looking at taking up morse. My only regret about my radio hobby I didnt get my callsign sooner a great hobby with great people in it.
