NØSS is the memorial call sign of the Mid-Mo Amateur Radio Club located in Jefferson City, Missouri. It was previously held for many years by Thomas S. Hammond, longtime member and trustee of the MMARC, and internationally known contester, DXer, builder, designer, Elecraft beta-tester, and trusted friend to thousands.
Following Tom's death on August 4, 2011, the club acquired his call as its Vanity call sign with the blessing of his widow, Jeri Hammond, KØRPH (who also became a Silent Key on February 20, 2014).
"NØSS" will be used from time to time by MMARC members for various on-the-air activities including Field Day, contests, FOBB, Skeeter Hunt, and other club-participating events.
QSL cards will be sent only upon receipt of your properly filled-out QSL card and a Self-Addressed Stamped-Envelope.
Tom's website, which contains a lot of valuable information and technical articles, will remain accessable for the indefinite future. Unfortunately, kits, circuit boards, and templates which Tom generously offered to the ham community are no longer available. His website is being maintained by the MMARC and may be accessed at www.mmccs.com/mmarc/noss/.
