Hello all, my name is Joe and I am 53 years old married and live in the Central part of New Jersey. I am married to my wife Laura for the past 18 years and have one son, Joseph who is 16 years old. My hobbies are muscle cars, playing and coaching Baseball and sports and I am a competive powerlifter. I spend most of my time with my family but when I have time, I love contest DXing and just plain old rag chewing. I became interested in communations back in the mid 70s. My uncle Duane was confined to a wheel chair because of muscular dystrophyas and he was very active on the CB radio and SSB dxing. I remember him talking on the radio all over the world on 11 meter and that got me interested. I would go to his house in NJ during lunch and after school and would DX all day. These were great memories of my childhood and my uncle. Everytime I make a new contact I thank my Uncle Duane for this great hobby he introduced me to.

I did the 11 meter thing through the 80s and 90s and got licensed in 1994 with the call sign KC2CEP and now I am N2CEP. I enjoyed 10 meters during Cycle 23 but my job did not give me alot of time to DX. As a Trooper with the NJ State Police, I worked long hours as a General Road Duty Trooper. As my career progressed, I worked in many different Units, Special Ops, Tactical Patrol, Etc, but for the past 10 years I am assigned to the Transportation Safety Bureau and my rank is a Lieutenant. At this time I work normal hours and it give me alot of time for DXing. I am in my 28th year and looking to retire in the near future. (The bonus round)

Hope to catch everyone on the air either at the home shack or portable, (my Police car is outfitted with my Icom 7000). I also enjoy QSLing and do QSL Bureau/direct, EQSL, Club Log and LOTW. I find it best to confirm through LOTW.   73s Joey N2CEP
