As of Sept, 2016 I am now using a Yaesu FTdx-5000 along with the Yaesu VL-1000 Amp. It seems like a good combination. I have also ventured into the world of e-QSL and LOTW.  Same antenna set up though I have moved the OCF inverted V dipole here and there a bit.

Using the ICOM 7410 transceiver at 100 watts max at this time. I have completed installation of the 45 foot tower with the 5 band hex beam antenna. I use a inverted V dipole for the 40 and 80 meter bands at 35 feet. So far all is working well. I have been a Ham since January of 2013, not a lot of expierience under my belt. I am finding the radio hobby very interesting and something to do during the hot and sticky summer months here in Mississippi.

I have recently retired. I have lived in the Bay Area of California, many years at MP 49 Richardson Hwy north of Valdez, Alaska with most of my time in Wyoming, over 22 years in and around the Cheyenne area. I worked at Fort Riley, KS at the Cavalry Musuem and resided in Manhattan, KS. I currently hang my hat  south and west about 20 miles from Jackson, MS. I was born in Fort Worth, Tx and travel to Aledo, Texas thru out the year and have family in The Villages, Florida.

15, 17, 20 and 40 meters are my favortie bands to use.
