I got my novice and technician license in 1990 while living in Hattiesburg, Miss. I worked 2 meters for years until I sold my truck & didn't get the radio moved to the new one. Even though I was not active, I upgraded to General when the 13 wpm code requirement was lowered to 5 wpm.

After retiring and moving to the shores of beautiful Lake Hudson, Spavinaw, Okla I bought my first HF rig, cobbled together an inverted V and got on the air.

My station consists of an ICOM IC-740 and a Kenwood TS-450S on HF and a Kenwood TM-271 2-meter.

The ICOM is on the inverted V and the TS-450S is connected to a G5RV.

I am a retired newspaper editor and owned my own small town weekly for about 5 years. Before this I was in the USAF for 14 years and in the National Guard a few more.
