I started in radio when I was 13. My father bought me a Realistic cb radio from Radio Shack and I have been at it ever since. I got my Amateur radio license as a technician in 2000. I became a General in 2002. I put up a tower in the summer of 2002 and since then I have built quite a few antennas until I got it right. On my tower I have a 80m Delta loop facing 70 deg. NE, a 40m Dipole N to S, a 20-10m 5 band Force 12 XR5 @ 62' rotated by a G-1000 DXA and to top it off a 2m/440 vertical @70'. One of these days I will build a beverage antenna for 160m or maybe a 160m dipole. In my shack I have a Yaesu FT920 and a Kenwood TS850 feeding a SB221 through a MFJ 986 tuner as needed. I am not a big contester but I do enjoy making long distant contacts. I have made a few good friends through the radio and enjoy learning from my fellow hams. Most of my time on the air is on 80m with a group of friends. 73
