My equipment consists of a 817 QRP rig to cut my teeth on, with an LnR 10/20/40 wire and a T1 to tune it. Recently went to a KX2 with ATU for weight savings and simplicity, a homebrewed  64:1 unun and 67 ft  piece of scrap wire on a 16 foot crappie fishing pole. Want to try 58 feet for 40m. Picked up a FT-991 for NPOTA activating with a few more watts to play with. Did all the software updates, effective 8-25-16. Color waterfall now on the TFT, though not acive until Yaesu offers a $400 estimated  hardware retrofit to make it fully active and functional like an Icom 7300.

2017 has seen me busy learning about antennas, propagation, and being very active in Parks On The Air WWFF-KFF in both being a Hunter and being an Activator.  These are great programs for QRP operators to attempt to both chase and to activate or be the hunted, a great way to cut your teeth doing QRP operations and get QSO's.  Get in the drivers seat, learn how to activate a POTA entity and get those QSO's. I get asked alot by QRP operators about the POTA program... this is a good fit for you as an activator. Saturday afternoons are almost always great times to be hunted, even if your are QRP.  Get spotted on  DxHeat Cluster, use social media like Kff Parks on the Air on Facebook, get yourself known, so other hams are looking for you.

Rigs have changed, KX3 when I wish to operate QRP and a K3 when I want to maximize QSO's while doing a Parks on the Air activation, or when I need 110w or solar flareups requires more beans to get the job done.
