The Horned Toad Acres Wireless Association club station was created to provide new hams the exposure to various ham radio operating activities. The group has participated in the annual ARRL Field Day from the Clay Springs Pinedale Volunteer Fire Department Station 1 over recent years.
The club received ARRL affiliation in 2001.
The club also supports VHF and UHF repeater stations in the Clay Springs, Arizona area (DM44ui). The new two meter repeater operates 146.820 MHz - 600 KHz offset with a CTCSS tone 136.5. Hz. Other repeaters are 224.940 MHz -1.6 MHz w/ 156.7 Hz CTCSS and 442.800 MHz + 5 MHz w/ 100 Hz CTCSS. The antennas for these systems are located near the top of the 150 foot, 160 Meter Vertical antenna.
Our club station location is : DM44ui - in the White Mountains of Eastern Arizona.
