Well it all started when when I was a kid in the 70's. I hung out with a group of guys that spend most of the time up in the woods playing in the mud. On accasion we would lose someome and have to spend our time doing searches instead of playing so a neighbor said we should get CB radio's. Well they worked and I was hooked. I later went into the Navy and got to spend time in the radio room watching and learning. Things have changed since back then as far as radio's go. I moved to Wenatchee the end of the 80's and met Jeff Henry (K7UJ). He is now a SK but he got me fired up and I got my Tech Licence and soon there after I got my General and now I have my Extra.

I enjoy spending time on the radio most everyday and log around 1000 contacts a year. I have never been into contesting but this year I am going to try and get a couple of awards.

I have alway been a Kenwood fan but I am going to Icom as I like the new SDR's and the new technology. My station consists of a IC-7600, IC-7300, IC-9100, IC-7000, IC-7100 and a few more. I do still have a TS-870S, TS-450, TS-940 and a TS-480HX becouse I still wanted to keep a couple Kenwoods. I have the AL-80B amp also for those hard to reach places. Mobiles are Kenwood and Yaesu. Antennas are Buckmaster 7 Band OC HP and LP wires and some verticals.

I enjoy doing Digital with a Signelink of the USB type. I have also done some Satallite work.

My new intrest is doing D-star, APRS and the such.

When not on the radio's I am usually up in the hills on my quads with the family.

I use HRD and really like it. I have several other sortware programs but HRD is all in one.

My wife Michele (KD7RZX) is an General and also enjoys our hobby.

My boy child is working on getting his Tech licence now also.

Thanks for stopping by.
