Hi,

Been on the air since 1977 at the age of 15. Started boosting the range of wireless mikes and discovered (illegal) CB radio. I was able to talk worldwide, with just 4 watts AM, using a mobile antenna on a metal plate. Later on progressed towards SSB and pirate HF, until I was persuaded by 'The Powers That Be' to cease my activities. I decided to go legal and got my first licence in 1989. HF being my prime interest, CW followed half a year later. I was very active and teaching Ham Radio electronics at out local club, until my work forced me abroad in 1998. On my return to The Netherlands, I got completely fed up with Ham Radio and I boxed everything. It took years to rekindle the Ham Radio hobby and get the equipment down from the loft. After a few repairs on the equipment, I found out that Ham Radio is still a lot of fun!!! I do not use local analogue equipment anymore. DMR and HF is were you can find me, especially on 10 meters low power and mobile.

Hope to catch you there.

73,

Mike.

Same spot in 2016 (new car, same equipment, better antenna)

PS: I have been active on the radio for a long time and I do not know where to put additional QSL-cards. So if you absolutely need a card let me know. Don’t feel obligated to send me QSL, the cards probably end up in the attic anyway.
