At the 14th of April 2012 it was one hundred years ago that the Titanic went down in the Atlantic Ocean.

We commemorate this with this special call sign. Many people lost their lives. Fortunately there was the morse code to send CQD (=SOS) into the air.

The Carpanthia came to the rescue and saved many of the passengers and the crew.

Direct QSL: Send an SASE with $ 1,00 for Europe and $ 2,00 for outside Europe.

The sinking of the RMS Titanic occurred on the night of 14/15 April 1912 in the north Atlantic Ocean, four days into her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York city. The largert passenger liner in service at the time, Titanic had 2,223people on board when she struck an iceberg at 23:40 (ship's time) on 14April 1912. She sank two hours and forty minutes later at 02:20 on 15 April, causing the deaths of 1,517people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history.
