June 18, 1937, the crew of V.P. Chkalov, G.F. Baidukov, A.V. Belyakov on the ANT-25 began the first ever non-stop flight from USSR (Shchyolkovo) to USA (Vancouver) through the North pole. In 63 hours and 25 minutes has been covered a distance of more than 10 thousand kilometers of earth, or 12 thousand kilometers of air routes. Of these, 5,900 miles had been laid over the oceans and ice. The flight over the North pole took place in difficult conditions: fog, cyclones, icing... The newspaper "New York Herald tribune" called it "a difficult and brilliant feat." In 1975 in Vancouver (WA), where 20 of the August 1937 Chkalov landed the plane, was inaugurated a monument in honor of the historic flight of the Soviet pilots. It was built at the expense of residents. The name of V. P. Chkalov here are Park street and the Museum, where carefully preserved gifts donated by the Russians. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of flights Shchyolkovo branch of the Union of radioamateurs of Russia (SRR)  in collaboration with the International Amateur radio club-aviators "Fifth Ocean" from 17 to 25 June 2017 spent days activity.
