South East Metro Amateur Radio Club

Please join us at our club meeting held at 7PM on the last Tuesday of the Month
at Zion Lutheran Church at 8500 Hillside Trail in Cottage Grove Minnesota.

In April of 2013 the Club has a new home located at the Zion Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, MN moving from the Fire Station Two was due to growth in the cities fire division causing a need for more space. We thank the Fire Service for their many years of providing us a home for the Club. We continue to work with and support the City of Cottage Grove in their emergency preparedness efforts.

SEMARC is a general interest amateur radio club devoted to serving its members and the amateur radio community in general. It is affiliated with ARRL (The National Association for Amateur radio) and supports the programs of that association.

The club has programs that support the community as with our youth education and student scholarship program, public service and emergency communications, participating with the Washington County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) organization as a partner with the Stillwater Amateur Radio Association (SARA) and providing testing opportunities to get your amateur radio license with our volunteer examiner teams.

Our public service participation includes Special events for the City of Cottage Grove. In the past our members have participated in "Darien's Dash", "The Woodbury Country Mile", "Strawberry Fest", National Nigh Out and other charitable events requiring radio communications.

As SEMARC meetings are in Cottage Grove, Minnesota the club draws members primarily from South Washington and Dakota Counties but everyone is welcome.

The club's 2 meter repeater operates on 146.985 MHz with a minus off-set and no tone is required. This repeater provides excellent coverage with its transmitter located in Inver Grove Heights. Our second repeater is 147.18 with a plus offset and tone of 74.4 being use for our ARES operations.

For fun, we have special events like Fox Hunts and we operate during the annual amateur radio "Field Day" in June. Our meetings include a short "business" meeting and have programs that are either educational or entertaining.
