Ham Member Lookups: 3649

My name is Ross Hochstrasser, I have been W1EKG for about 6 years. My radio life started at age 4 with my Grandfathers Zenith console radio(which I have had since tha age of 10) I should have had my ham licence much earlier in life, but between school, girls, cars and clocks I just didn't have time. Now that I am a licenced ham, I am enjoying the hobby very much. My primary interest as you might see in the picture, is restoring and using vintage "boatanchors" The URC35A in the picture has only been here since 5/2103 and is my introduction to SSB and DX. Operating AM is still my favorite. I never learned the morse code, but I hope to be doing CW in the next year or so. I operate the 2 meter radio in the car and occasionally an HT here in the shack. Most of my 2 meter activity is on our local clubs repeater.

I have had my General class commercial radiotelephone license with radar endorsement since 1977. I also have a Massachusetts Master Technician license as well.

You can find me on AM between 3870-3885 somewhat regularly and cruising the URC35A on almost any frequency  in the HF bands  almost anytime.

Feel free to email at bavarianradio@comcast.net  to set up a QSO or just to send a reception report.
