My shack is always changing. Presently it consists of a Yaesu FT-991A. I use this transceiver for HF and VHF operatng, For antennas, I use a Windom dipole at 40' with 100 watts or less.  I also have an 10 element 2m yagi for 2m SSB. You can usually find me working 6m or 2m, especially during band openings. I'm always looking to log a new country or grid square.

I also enjoy DXing the HF bands and the broadcast, or MW, band.  I recently added a SDR PLAY RSP to my shack. and use this SDR receiver to help log some new catches. I enjoy hunting for obscure and strange types of signals. Feel free to visit my Shortwave / DX blog here: W2GJW to see some of my videos.

I'm also Net Control for our weekly Millennium Net which meets each Wednesday at 2100ET via Echolink. This net was formerly known as the 6m Millennium Net. Simply connect to W2GJW via Echolink on Wednesday nights at 9PM ET. Our friendly, open topic, round table discussions range from amateur radio, music, science and astronomy, to name just a few topics. All amateurs are welcome to participate in the weekly discussions. Many may ask why an Echolink net? There are those who live in antennas restricted covenants. Others enjoy having a QRM free QSO. Echolink makes it easy to operate with a pc, smartphone or tablet from anywhere as long as you have internet access! Don't knock it until you experience it. We've been very successful over the past 4 years on Echolink. Our group is composed of friendly, knowledgable guys and we always welcome all new comers. Visit our Facebook page HERE

As for myself, I'm an Electrical Engineer with 37 years of experience designing analog and digital circuits and programming microcontroller firmware for use with wireless bluetooth peripherals for data acquisition systems. I also program system control software in C++ and VB. I also enjoy playing guitar, listening to music, building kits, and DX-ing the bands.

I QSL 100%. If you would like a QSL card, please send me one first and I will gladly reciprocate. I can also QSL via eQSL. You may also confirm our contact on my QRZ logbook page.

Thanks for reading....
