The photo is a FA 18F Super Hornet breaking the sound barrier known as a "sonic boom", it was taken at an Air Show at Eglin AFB using a Canon EOS with a 300mm lens. More photos can be found of the Blue Angels Air Show  here.

I wanted a sure fire way to communicate, if "all else fails", looked into to HAM, and there it is, a reliable time tested way of communication that no matter what, will work if all else fails.

Not totaly new to HAM a a young teen I worked on & repaired HAM radios, and CB's, I have always been interested in electronics, built my first computer at 19, started programing as well since there was no modern CPU, and nothing was readily avaialable, I have spent many years working with computer programming moved into security, then wide area LAN, and remote operations, and network security.

Recent events had me looking into something superior to computers as a way of communication if a major event were to occur, and back to HAM radio I went.

Hope to see you on the bands!

My rig Kenwood TS-2000, MC-90 mic, Al-80B as needed.

Antenna is a wire dipole, the node is facing due north the diapoles are East/West. It is at approximatley 38 feet.

For emergency back up power, if needed. This provides enough electricity to run the shack, and the home.

It can be rolled into position, connected in less than five minutes.

Met Jim on the bands video of him below, hats off to Jim KA0HDJ, for doing this for our troops!

Many thanks KA0HDJ from Gary W4GGB!
