My nick name is ...... DICK

Like to work DX. Active member of the Northen California DX Club (NCDXC) Past President (1998-2000).

Rig is a Kenwood TS-990S and the Antenna is a KLM KT-34 @ 35 feet. (11 METERS high)The Linear is the EXPERT 1.3-FA.

The Kenwood 990 has been a gem to own and operate.

I have had the 1.3 since January 2016 . Very happy to report that it has preformed flawlessly. What a nice addition to the shack. Now with over a year of use it is been just great.  For anyone considering  purchasing one, if there is still a wait time it will be worth it. The newest version is the SPE Expert 1.5-FA and is almost identical but with a slightly more powerful MOSFET final.  Doing business with EXPERT LINEARS AMERICA and the owner Bob Hardie has been a very positive experience.

The backup station Rig is a Kenwood TS-130S.  My backup  linear is a Heathkit SB-200.

I also have a Murch UT-2000B trans match for backup, but the EXPERT 1.3-FA  tuner even matches the lower end of 80 Meter CW were I had to use the Murch.

I have a Hy-Gain, HT-18 Vertical antenna with a very poor ground radials. The vertical antenna is very close to both the neighbor and my fence so only a few ground rods can be used. However it loads all bands with a very low SWR but as a vertical it tends  of course, to be a "vertical dummy load."

Retired and enjoy both DX and Rag Chewing.
