A little about my amateur history, I received my Technician Class license in May of 2012 with the call KD8SKO, and made my first contacts on the 10 meter band since a 10 meter mobile was all I had.  Since then, I upgraded to General Class in April of 2013 and Extra Class in 2016, receiving the vanity call W8MU in December.  My first HF rig was a Yaesu FT-840.  I have since began my quest to have a classic station and have been putting together a Kenwood TS-520s station.  So far I have the TS-520S, VFO-520S, SP-520 speaker, and MC-50 mic.  I use the old Kenwood more then anything else, it's great fun to use and the receiver is fantastic!  I also have an Elecraft K1 that I plan on using on hikes and camping although I've made a few contacts with it on my home antennas including a 1,700 MPW CW contact to Rarotonga, South Cook Islands.  My antennas are a double sized G5RV in which I can work 160-10 meters with a tuner and a Cushcraft A-4S tribander for the 10, 15, and 20 meter bands. I 'm also a member of the Adrian Amateur Radio Club, and I am the Assistant Emergency Coordinator for Lenewee County EOC.  I started learning CW when I received my General ticket, joined the Straight Key Century Club (#10953T), and made my first CW contact on August 24, 2013, and with the help of great Elmers have boosted my speed up to a solid 20 WPM.  I participate in many CW events with the SKCC and if you haven't checked out the club, do so.  It's great fun with great ops and it's free!

Personally, I am married with three daughters, each with their own way of getting what they want out of me. I am a contractor and I volunteer most of my extra time with the various school programs at the schools my daughters attend.

I hope to catch you on the air soo.....wait, if your here then I probably already have! Well then, 73 till next time!
